Heaven (Fully Flared Intro Video Remix)

Heaven is one of the standout tracks from the 2008 UNKLE album ‘End Titles – Stories for Film”, an eclectic collection of recordings inspired by the moving image.

Heaven was used in the acclaimed skate film ‘Fully Flared’ directed by Spike Jonze and Ty Evans. The collaboration inspired the directors to take footage and re-edit a sequence of shots that shows the Lakai skateboarding team demonstrate their considerable skills as they negotiate various exploding obstacles. With Heaven as the musical backdrop, the resulting marriage of sound to picture is quite extraordinary. No CGI was used and as far as we know no skateboarders were hurt while shooting this particular sequence, though that is hard to believe in some of the shots.

The American Dollar : Anything you synthesize

The American Dollar : Anything you synthesize

Ready for 5 minutes of zen ?

Here is what Onesize, creator of this video, has to say about it :

After hearing work from ‘The American Dollar‘ we really felt the urge to create a music video for one of their new songs. Inspired by the music we had the idea of making a decaying world. One single cameramovement from left to right, showing a landscape, looping 9 times. Day becomes night and even the seasons go by. After we finished the production, we decided to reverse the whole video. This gives you a seamingly happy end, but you know what’s going to happen. There are no lyrics and we did not pay attention to the title of the song, we just felt this was the right thing to do.

There are a lot of hidden treasures on the internet. But I can say I was thrilled when I discovered the “take away shows“. I love the idea, and I love the way it is done. It gives everyone a chance to meet artists as if we were close friends. The music enriches every landscape, it enlightens every face in the streets.

It’s a real privilege to be able to listen to that Ra Ra Riot take away show, but there are a lot more to listen to on takeawayshows.com.

Corey Vidal became famous on Youtube by publishing dancing lessons on video. This young canadian his now a Youtuber. That means that he makes video for a living, being paid through the revenue-sharing programme of Youtube.

So he tries to be creative to get some subscribers ;-) . And his last video was a real success, with this A cappella tribute to John Williams, which hits almost 3 million views in a month. In fact, I was quite disappointed to learn that he is not singing (The song is singed by an A cappella band called Moosebutter.- On their website, you can find the MP3 version of the song). Corey is only doing some lip-synching. Still, it’s a fun video and they all did a good job.

Since October 2005, and the uploading of this video on Youtube, Jeong-Hyun Lim (aka Funtwo) has become a famous guitarist all over the world. Yesterday, he has been invited at the Youtube Live concert and he went on the scene with Joe Satriani.

You can read the whole story of this video, which is now over 52,000,000 views on Youtube, in this article from the NewYork Times : Web Guitar Wizard revealed at last.

Since I found this rock version of this 18th century composition, arranged by JerryC and played by Funtwo, I keep on listening to it. “this guy iz great!!!”

Do you know about Stomp ? It’s an english dance troupe that uses ordinary objects like brooms or trashcans to create a percussive physical theatre show. In this video, they’re doing a percussion performance with basketballs. Amazing.

Find out more about them on Stomp Online.
